James A Mcmurchie Quality butcher, who for years had been trading in Haswell, now moved to Hetton-le-Hole utilising the old public house The Caroline.

A lot of work was needed to bring the building up to standard but this was carried out and the shop opened and is giving great service to not only the people of Hetton but bringing trade from other areas as these shoppers are also using some of the other shops in the town.

YOUNG BUTCHER OF THE YEAR APPLICANT BRYCE LAWSON FROM THE COMPANY WHICH WILL BE HOSTED ON B.B.C IF SUCCESSFUL.

Bryce was selected from a total entry of 600 contestants which was cut down to 120 then to 20.

Young Butcher of the year competion was screened on BBC on

DECEMBER 20th 2010 at 8pm on BBC THREE

Bryce gave a confident account of himself and gained a very creditable second place.
